Pai Gow (PaiGow) is quickly becoming one of the most popular games in casinos across the nation. Many players refer to it as a "Drinking Game". Pai Gow requires you to beat the dealer with both of your hands and vice versa, if this does not happen the result is a push. Because there are a lot of pushes in the game, you can play for a lot longer with your buy-in. This is not a game for an action junkie. The object of Pai Gow poker is for a player to create two poker hands out of the seven-card hand he/she is dealt by the dealer: a five-card hand, and a two-card poker hand. The five-card hand's value must exceed the two-card hand's. The two-card hand is often called the hand "in front" or "on top", or the "small" or "minor" hand. The five-card hand is called the hand "behind", or the "bottom" or "big" (as they are placed that way in front of the player, when the player is done setting them).
There are a couple different strategies and rules that are associated with Pai Gow poker. Another benefit of that game is that it gives the player a decision in some circumstances, this adds a lot more enjoyment than a stict "by the book" game. Eventhough, Pai Gow poker is a carnival game, the odds are not as bad as other poker variations (Carribbean Stud, 3 Card Poker, etc..). Learn the Pai Gow Strategy and Pai Gow Rules to keep the house odds lower and better ways to maximize your chances of winning.
Most of the casinos in the big casino destinations (Las Vegas, Biloxi, Atlantic City, etc..) are offering Pai Gow. I try to keep an updated location list with table minimums, however minimums do change often and I have noticed that Pai Gow minimums are sometimes higher than other games. This could be because it is a slower game for the house. Check the locations page for the list.
